Sommer Margarethenhof

Let's go: staying active on Lake Tegernsee

If you are on holiday in one of the most beautiful natural regions of Europe, you can of course also experience a lot of nature, but the Tegernsee region offers even more. Our leisure tips – for summer and winter.

What you can do in the summer

Bike tour: Margarethenhof now rents e-bikes for €25 per day. You can go on a fantastic bike tour and explore the area in detail.

Summer fun on the Wallberg: watching the paragliding and hang-gliding pilots as they slowly glide to the foot of the Wallberg with a view of the Tegernseer Valley is a great experience. It will be even more unforgettable if you become a paraglider or hang-glider yourself and enjoy the incomparable panorama from the summit (in tandem also possible without training).

Hiking fun: For nature lovers, an extensive hike along the high trail from Rottach to Tegernsee (medium to steep ascent) with a subsequent destination: in the traditional Bräustüberl you can recharge your batteries.

Water fun: wanting a change of perspective? From the water, the Tegernsee region can be experienced in a completely different way. Try it out – with a boat excursion on Lake Tegernsee or an exciting trip on a party boat.

Fun and games: With a little luck, you can replenish your holiday funds directly – when you visit the casino in Bad Wiessee. Over more than 6,000 m² you can test your luck with roulette, blackjack, or poker.

More hiking fun: if you want to hike in Upper Bavaria, you're in exactly the right place on Lake Tegernsee. Around Margarethenhof, about 200 km of marked paths encourage carefree hiking, no matter whether you prefer easy hiking trails and hiking paths or challenging mountain tours on the 1,722 metre high Wallberg or the Hirschberg with a height of 1,686 metres.

In total the Tegernsee region offers 26 hiking trails, which lead you past rustic mountain huts through beautiful and varied landscapes.
